Northwest Beneficials:
Pioneers in Natural Pest Control

Founded in the heart of Central Oregon, Northwest Beneficials has been a family-owned business for four generations. We specialize in the cultivation and distribution of beneficial insects, including ladybugs, praying mantises, and nematodes, which are essential for maintaining healthy ecosystems and controlling pest populations naturally. Our commitment to sustainability and organic practices drives everything we do, from our farming methods to our customer service.

Passionate Advocates for Beneficial Insects

FAMILY HISTORY as told by Chris Morris

We have been environmentally conscious and sustainable collectors of live ladybugs since the mid 1960’s. Our oldest collector “Grampy” born in 1898 was a life long California resident and outdoorsman. He and my grandmother collected ladybugs long past when most retire to their rocking chairs. As a family my parents took me and my sister ladybug collecting, I was a preteen boy so it wasn’t “work” it was an adventure! At the time my dream was to earn enough money to buy my first bicycle.

As time went on I grew up and my desire for boyhood things morphed into a passion for the outdoors, plants and gardening. My family and I didn't stop collecting ladybugs either, it actually expanded to include my cousin’s, who later become some the top ladybug collectors in the world, continuing to practice our families sustainable collecting practices. Many years later, we started providing beneficial insects to retail garden centers as well as commercial growers. My beautiful and hardworking wife, Dawn, along with our three kids worked tirelessly along side me to design and develop our business techniques for marketing, packaging and the best handling practices. Our goal was always to provide non chemical solutions for your garden, reducing the need for chemical pesticides. Just like my parents had done when I was growing up.

My daughter Holly continued the family business in 2010 as President. Her husband Andy supported her in the streamlining of the business as Operations Manager. He has also become an integral part of our collecting team, passing on the knowledge, experience and a love for nature to the 5th generation.

We continue to be at the forefront of the beneficial insect industry, with myself, Chris, serving as the sales manager and my daughter, Holly Ford, as the company’s owner, along with her husband Andrew Ford our Operations Manager. Together as a family we all work diligently to ensure that Northwest Beneficials remains a trusted source for natural and sustainable pest control solutions. Holly and Andy’s 4 children are the 5th generation. They are rapidly growing more involved in the opera- tions of our multi generational family business.

Our entire team is passionate about educating customers on the benefits of using beneficial insects and providing them with the tools they need to create thriving gardens, farms, and orchards without the use of harmful chemicals.

At Northwest Beneficials, we believe in the beautiful order of nature and it’s ability to keep everything in balance. We are proud to offer products that not only protect your plants but also contribute to the overall health of our environment. Join us in our mission to cultivate a healthier planet, one beneficial insect at a time!
